Help us make homes in Hemsworth warmer and cheaper to run

Home Energy West Yorkshire and Wakefield Council want to hear from people in Hemsworth. Tell us about your home and your energy bills. It’s free to take part. You could win a prize, join a paid research group or get a free home energy survey. This isn’t a grant application.

What is the Hemsworth home energy project?

Is your home hard to keep warm in winter? Are your energy bills higher than you’d like?

Home Energy West Yorkshire and Wakefield Council are working together in Hemsworth. We want to find out how we can help more people lower their bills and improve their homes.

What you tell us will help us plan a scheme for your area in 2027.

How you can take part

There are three ways to get involved. You can do one, two or all three. Please sign up by January 8, 2027.

Register your interest

Tell us a bit about yourself and the best way to get in contact with you.

What happens after you register?

We'll be in touch to let you know how you can take part in our survey or a discussion group. There's no obligation and you could receive rewards including shopping vouchers or a free home survey worth £2,000.

Who can take part

As long as you live in Hemsworth and are aged 18 or over - we want to hear from you. It doesn't matter what type of home you live in or if you rent or own it.

How will my feedback be used?

Your feedback will help us understand what residents need from future home energy improvement programmes. It will shape support and make it easier for people to lower their energy bills and improve their homes.

Frequently asked questions

No. The questionnaire, the research group and the home energy survey are all free. You won’t be asked to buy anything.

The questionnaire is a set of questions. You can answer them online, by phone or by post. The home energy survey is a visit to your home by an assessor.

Yes. You can fill in the questionnaire and join the research group. You could also get a home energy survey. If any work is suggested later, your landlord would need to agree to it.
