What is the trusted installer and end-to-end support service?

Introduction

Home Energy West Yorkshire offers trusted paid-for survey and support services through our partner, Furbnow. After you have received advice from our free service you can choose to install improvements yourself, or you might want to take advantage of our paid-for services which give you the peace of mind that you are getting the right information and support throughout the process.

You can always contact us, our advice is free and impartial. We will help you understand your options and never pressure you.

Who are Furbnow?

Furbnow is the UK's leading specialist in helping people improve the energy efficiency of their homes. They provide services which meet the Government’s expectations for quality, known as PAS 2035, from assessment through to quality installation. They partner with local authorities to deliver trusted retrofit solutions that protect you as a consumer and ensure quality outcomes.

Before you make a decision on whether to use our end-to-end support service you'll need a home energy plan which will include clear recommendations and cost estimates to consider. It's always your choice which measures to implement and when. 

Finance and grants

As part of your decision on which measures to install, you might need to look at finance. We can help you understand what funding options are available to you, whether that's grants or schemes, or a low interest loan.

End-to-end support

If you want more support, Furbnow also offer a paid-for end-to-end support service. From assessment through to final handover, this service ensures your retrofit journey is smooth and delivers quality results. This includes:

  • Design and planning: Your retrofit coordinator will create detailed specifications, engage with specialist contractors, arrange for technical surveys, and manage the tender process. You'll receive expert guidance on material choice and contractor selection.
  • Project delivery: They will coordinate all installation aspects, manage timelines, and ensure quality standards. Your retrofit coordinator will visit at key stages, provide weekly progress updates and handles any issues that arise.
  • Quality assurance: Every installation is quality-checked before handover, ensuring all certification and documentation is provided. Furbnow will also follow up post-completion to ensure you are satisfied with the work carried out.
End-to-end: design and tender

End-to-end: design and tender

Provided by Furbnow, this end-to-end support service offers project management and quality assurance.

Price: Varies by project complexity. Stage 2 and 3 combined are usually an additional 15% on top of quoted installation price.

  • Technical drawings and design documentation where applicable
  • Engagement with specialist contractors
  • Coordination of technical surveys (structural, damp, electrical, etc.)
  • Tender process with vetted installer network 
  • Expert guidance on contractor selection

  • Building regulations and planning application support where required
