Introduction
We're working with trusted delivery partners to help households across West Yorkshire save money on a range of energy-saving and low-carbon technologies, such as heat pumps and solar panels, through group buying.
Helping West Yorkshire households save money
Making home energy improvements can feel complicated and expensive. Our collective buying scheme helps people save money on the up-front costs through the power of group purchasing.
By bringing together households across West Yorkshire, we can help make home energy improvements more affordable and simpler to arrange.
This scheme can help with:
- Solar panels and battery storage
- Air source heat pumps
- Electric vehicle charging points
- Home insulation and other energy efficiency improvements
- Energy tariff switching opportunities
All offers are provided with no obligation to proceed.
Register your interest for collective buying
When the scheme launches, you'll be invited to take part and provide details about your property.
This scheme is open to:
- Homeowners
- Private landlords
- Small and medium-sized businesses
- Community organisations
Receiving your recommendations
A range of trusted suppliers will then compete to offer the best price and quality installation services.
You'll receive information about the recommended products, costs and expected benefits.
What happens next?
Once you have received the recommendations, you can decide in your own time. You have four weeks to make a decision and there's no obligation to accept the offer.
If you choose to proceed, your installer will arrange surveys, installation and ongoing support.
Why take part?
- Save money - Collective buying can help secure competitive prices compared with purchasing individually.
- Simple process - We bring together residents and suppliers, helping make the process easier to navigate.
- Trusted suppliers - All installers are assessed against quality and consumer protection requirements before participating.
- Reduce energy bills - Many energy-saving improvements can help lower running costs and improve the comfort of your home.

new electric vehicle charge points installed
2.57 MW
of solar power installed (over 6,300 panels)
Why did people choose this scheme?
- Prices up to 42% below typical market rates
- Council-backed, with vetted installers and support every step of the way
- Step-by-step guidance and regular updates
- Open to first-timers, older residents, and those new to solar—no jargon, no pressure
Participants also reported feeling more confident about using energy wisely, with many adjusting when and how they used electricity to make the most of their solar panels.
