Home Energy West Yorkshire’s aim is to transform homes across the region. We want people to be warmer, comfier and have lower energy bills. But we can’t do that alone. And that means there is a huge opportunity to create new jobs for people from all backgrounds.
Working closely with West Yorkshire colleges, training providers and businesses, we’re arming people with the skills needed to take on the exciting challenge of making homes as fuel efficient as possible. Heating system and solar panel installers. Plasterers, electricians, roofers, heating engineers and external wall insulation installers. Energy assessors, project managers and architects. Whether you’re starting your career, wanting to retrain, run a business or want to recruit new staff, we are here to help you.

Fully-funded support
The Government’s Growing West Yorkshire's Green Economy Project supports the development of green technologies in Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds and Wakefield. It provides business support, training, development, meet the buyer events and networking.
Connecting businesses with schools
The West Yorkshire Careers Portal connects businesses in West Yorkshire with schools and colleges to help prepare young people for work and build our future workforce. It enables businesses to advertise events and career opportunities. It also helps schools and colleges wanting support with mock interviews and career fairs.
Funding apprenticeships
Our Apprenticeship Levy Transfer Service is a great way to give back to your community. It enables businesses to transfer up to 50% of their unspent apprenticeship levy to support smaller businesses. It covers 100% of the training costs of the apprenticeship standard and lets smaller businesses avoid paying the 5% contribution towards the training.
