Compliance status

The Home Energy West Yorkshire website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to ‘the non-compliances and exemptions’ listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

Site navigation

Pages are missing a main landmark, a key navigational aid for some assistive technology users. This fails WCAG Success Criterion 1.3.1 (Info & Relationships).

We plan to add main landmarks across the site by Nov 2025.

Online home checker

Buttons and dropdown form fields within the tool are not full accessible with a keyboard. This fails WCAG Success Criterion 2.1.1 (Keyboard).
We plan to resolve these issues by Nov 2025.

Design

Some text, button and icons have insufficient colour contrast which may impact users with low vision and neurodivergence. This fails WCAG Success Criteria 1.4.3 (Contrast (Minimum)) and 1.4.11 (Non-text Contrast).

We plan to resolve these contrast issues by Nov 2025.
